Building Stronger and More Inclusive Communities

¡Bienvenidxs!
Welcome!

We are a grassroots non-profit located in Louisville, KY accompanying families in the Latinx community.  â€‹Our mission is to empower these families, providing a foundation for systemic change with long-term effects.

THE IMPACT

When La Casita Center first started, we were a small group of people doing our best to help as many people as we could. Slowly, word spread in the Latinx community that there was a place for Latinx people to get help, connect to resources, and to share in a cultural connection with people from similar backgrounds who spoke the same language.

We began keeping track of how many services we provided to the community, and it's been amazing to see how much we've grown. Back in 2014, we provided around 1500 services, but in 2022, we were able to provide over 59,000 services! Each of those services represents an opportunity for us to make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

LA OBRA

La Casita Center was founded in 2005 when a small group of concerned women, which included social workers, teachers, mothers, and members of religious communities, recognized a growing need for community building and access to services, education, and support in the Latinx community. La Casita Center provides support and empowerment based on the needs of the community, using a ground-up strategy to help the Latinx community access services and overcome barriers.

Our vision embraces the accompaniment model, an evidence based practice focused on empowering individuals to make changes in their own lives. La Casita Center uses accompaniment to address systemic issues through community care that is trauma informed and rooted in equity and accessibility.  We take a holistic approach that works for the whole person or family to ensure all needs are met.

YOU PLAY A ROLE

As a small team, the accompaniment of our community is invaluable in helping us do the amazing work we do. From monetary donations, to volunteering, to resource sharing, we could not do what we do without you! Your accompaniment frees up staff to focus our energies where they are needed - providing accompaniment to members of the Latinx community in need. Thank you for being a part of our circle!
